Thank you to all who attended our Christmas open house and fundraiser event on the 9th and 10th of December.  Chris and I are immensely grateful for the support you showed us with your presence and your Christmas joy, and of course with your purchases that continue to make our art work and our business possible. 

This year you also helped us raise an incredible $2035 for The Foodbank of Waterloo Region as well as a number of food donations to our food drive, all amounting to over 4000 meals for families in our community! 

I am so deeply disheartened to hear about the vast numbers of people in Waterloo Region and in our country at large who are currently depending of local food banks for the most basic supplies to survive, but your help this season brought me hope, and comfort to all who will receive your gifts via our food bank.  These are the kinds of gifts that truly contain the meaning of Christmas; the light in dark times that guides us towards love and care for others.

This year's donation doubled our donation from last year and i will be thinking strategically in the coming months about how to exceed this year's $2035 at next year's event. 

Our great thanks to the Waterloo Potters' Workshop members who donated their pottery for sale in our event.  With out them ,this wouldn't have been possible. 

hi! i hope you'll join us this year for our annual holiday event & fundraiser.  like last year, we will have a pottery seconds sale.  "seconds" are piece of pottery with minor imperfections or test pieces that the artist can't sell at full price.  each year members of the waterloo potters' workshop donate their seconds to us for our sale event and we give 100% of the proceeds to the food bank of waterloo region.  we also accept food donations and will give you ballots for our door prize draw in exchange.  last year we raised over $600 and 1000 meals for members of our community who need our support.  help us exceed that this year! 

and of course, we have a beautiful selection of locally crafted gift items for you to shop in our gallery.  i'm sure you'll find the perfect one-of-a-kind gift made by one of our exceptional artists.  for every $25 spent in our gallery, you'll also receive a ballot for the door prize draw too!

HELLLLOOOO!!!!  it's been some time since i gave an update and i miss you!  it's been a pretty weird year, but we are getting ready to host one of our favourite events of the year, the Uptown Waterloo Winter Wonderland Event (formerly know as Hop n' Shop)

Come visit us on Saturday December 4th & Sunday December 5th from 12pm - 5pm.  we'll be collaborating with our neighbouring businesses here at The Regina Street Commons to bring you a fun holiday shopping experience.  visit each of the participating businesses (Seven Shores Cafe, The Crumby Cookie Dough CO, and of course us here at Torchlight Tattoo & Rising Moon Gallery) to obtain your passport for the event.  complete your passport by visiting each business and it will be entered in a draw to win a fabulous door prize worth up to $300 including beautiful and delicious products from each business!

you can earn extra entries for the draw for every $25 you spend at any business and by bringing non-perishable food items for The Food Bank of Waterloo Region.  we hope to exceed last year's contributions so please bring, bring, bring!

this event will also feature our highly acclaimed annual pottery seconds sale where you can buy charmingly imperfect handmade pottery from local makers at a discounted price and 100% of the revenue will be donated to the food bank as well.
